Summary
Location: Hybrid from Chicago, IL
The Product Manager owns the performance and lifecycle management of a defined product portfolio, with accountability for product strategy execution, business results, and cross-functional alignment. Reporting to senior Product Management leadership, this role serves as the primary driver of day-to-day product decisions, translating strategy into action to deliver profitable growth and differentiated customer value.
The Product Manager operates with increasing autonomy, balancing commercial, operational, and customer considerations while leading cross-functional teams through product development, launch, and ongoing optimization.
What You’ll Do:
- Own the execution of product strategy and roadmap for the assigned portfolio, aligned to enterprise objectives and customer needs.
- Lead product lifecycle decisions, including innovation, line extensions, cost optimization, and product rationalization.
- Act as the voice of the customer, integrating market, competitive, and customer insights into product decisions.
- Own baseline business performance for assigned products, including revenue, margin, pricing, and mix.
- Develop forecasts, business cases, and performance analyses; identify risks and opportunities and drive corrective actions.
- Partner with Finance and Operations to support budget planning and delivery of financial commitments.
- Lead cross-functional execution across all phases of the product lifecycle, from concept development and validation through launch and sustainment.
- Drive disciplined project management to ensure delivery against scope, timing, cost, and performance targets.
- Partner with Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Sourcing to ensure reliable supply, quality, and cost competitiveness.
- Collaborate closely with Sales and Product Marketing to define value propositions, pricing architecture, and go-to-market execution.
- Support development of sales tools, training, and customer-facing materials.
- Influence stakeholders across functions to achieve alignment and results without direct authority.
What You’ll Bring:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, Supply Chain, or a related field required. MBA or advanced degree preferred.

5–8+ years of experience in product management or closely related roles; demonstrated ownership of product performance and cross-functional initiatives; experience in a manufacturing, supply-chain, or durable goods environment preferred.

Strong strategic and analytical skills with a bias for execution; solid financial acumen, including pricing and margin management; proven project management and organizational skills; strong communication and influencing capabilities.

Travel: Up to 30–40% annually.
What You’ll Receive:
As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this position is $129,000 to $168,000. Placement in the range depends on several factors such as experience, skills, geography and internal equity and may change over time. This position qualifies for benefits and you will be eligible to participate in a bonus plan.
