Engineering Intern

Internship Objective

Gain hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment by learning production processes, identifying improvement opportunities, and collaborating with operators to enhance plant performance. This internship will provide practical experience applying technical knowledge to drive continuous improvement, operational efficiency, and problem-solving initiatives.

What You’ll Do:

• Learn and document manufacturing processes, workflows, and quality standards across operational areas.
• Engage with operators and cross-functional team members to understand challenges and identify improvement opportunities.
• Create process maps and workflows for each assigned area following on-the-job training and observation.
• Analyze production issues and recommend practical solutions to improve safety, quality, efficiency, and performance.
• Identify and develop at least two continuous improvement projects with measurable business impact.
• Assist with project planning, tracking, and execution to ensure successful implementation of improvement initiatives.
• Lead or support the execution of approved improvement projects from concept through completion.
• Present project results, key findings, and recommendations to plant leadership and stakeholders.

What You’ll Bring:

• Currently enrolled in a bachelor's degree program in a relevant discipline at an accredited university, with an anticipated graduation date between December 2027 and May 2029 (rising junior or rising senior).
• Strong academic performance with a minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Available to work full-time for 12 weeks during summer 2027.
• Reliable transportation to and from the work location.
• Authorization to work in the United States.

• Target majors: chemical, mechanical, industrial, manufacturing engineering
• Communication skills are most important

What You’ll Receive:

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this position is $20 to $25 per hour. Placement in the range depends on several factors such as experience, skills, geography and may change over time.
