Summary

The Manager of Digital & E-Commerce – Retail is responsible for driving online sales performance, product discoverability, traffic, and conversion for all James Hardie products across The Home Depot and Lowe’s digital ecosystems. This role serves as the primary digital lead for both retail partners, overseeing product content, online merchandising strategy, promotional execution, analytics, and overall digital brand presence. This leader will collaborate cross-functionally with Retail Marketing, Sales, Product Management, Creative, and external partners to optimize the customer experience across retail platforms and ensure James Hardie products show up consistently, accurately, and competitively online to drive revenue growth, share gains and consumer purchase behavior.

What You’ll Do:

Digital Merchandising & Product Content

  • Own and optimize the James Hardie product catalog across Home Depot and Lowe’s websites, ensuring accuracy of product data, imagery, videos, copy, and SEO-optimization
  • Manage product setup, onboarding, and ongoing maintenance through retail content management systems (e.g., Home Depot IDM, Lowe’s IMA)
  • Develop and implement best-in-class product content standards that improve discoverability, engagement, and conversion
  • Lead creation of digital assets (how-to videos, imagery, comparison charts, A+ content, style guides) in partnership with Brand and Creative teams

Digital & E-Commerce Growth 

  • Build and execute digital campaigns & e-Commerce strategies that increase traffic, conversion and online sales performance and optimize the customer journey
  • Collaborate with Retail Sales teams to drive digital share gains and improve category placement and visibility
  • Optimize retail media campaigns to drive demand & conversion goals
  • Respond to digital shelf KPIs including search rank, content health, in-stock status, ratings & reviews, and competitive positioning

Omnichannel Customer

  • Ensure consistent online and in-store experience, aligning digital content with packaging, signage, marketing, and product claims
  • Support omnichannel launches, seasonal resets, and category refreshes with digital content strategies
  • Partner with Retail Marketing to integrate digital insights into broader retail campaigns

Promotions & Activation

  • Execute online promotions, special buys, seasonal events in collaboration with Retail Sales and partner teams
  • Ensure promotional content, landing pages, media placements are accurate, timely, and optimized for performance
  • Track promotional lift and provide insights on future strategies

Analytics & Insights

  • Build dashboards and reporting tools to evaluate digital KPIs—including traffic, conversions, CTR, average order value, search rank, ROAS, content health, and competitive benchmarks
  • Provide weekly and monthly insights to Retail Sales and Marketing leaders to improve digital performance
  • Analyze consumer behavior and site performance to guide continuous improvement

Cross-Functional

  • Partner closely with Retail Sales, Product, Supply Chain, Creative, and Marketing to align on assortment, pricing, content, and promotions
  • Serve as subject-matter expert on retail e-commerce, advising teams on best practices and emerging trends
  • Manage agency or vendor partners supporting digital content creation, SEO, or retail media execution

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Digital Marketing, E-Commerce, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience in e-commerce, digital merchandising, or retail digital marketing—preferably with Home Depot, Lowe’s, or major consumer brands
  • Strong understanding of retail partner platforms (THD IDM, Lowe’s IMA, retail media tools, digital shelf platforms)
  • Proven success improving online discoverability, conversion, and digital shelf performance
  • Experience managing retail media budgets and campaigns
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in digital analytics tools and dashboards
  • Excellent communication, project management, and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced environment

What You’ll Receive:

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this position is $115,000 to $130,000. Placement in the range depends on several factors such as experience, skills, geography and internal equity and may change over time. This position qualifies for benefits and you will be eligible to participate in a bonus plan.
