Are you a seasoned indirect tax professional ready to lead strategic initiatives at a global industry leader? James Hardie Building Products Inc. is seeking an Indirect Tax Manager to drive compliance, innovation, and transformation across our North American operations.

What You’ll Do
- Lead Compliance & Operations: Oversee timely, accurate tax filings and payments across sales/use, GST/HST/PST, VAT, property taxes, and more.
- Drive Strategic Initiatives: Partner with senior leaders to assess tax implications of new business ventures, capacity expansions, and process improvements.
- Champion Innovation: Identify and implement tax technology solutions, automate data management, and streamline compliance processes.
- Mitigate Risk: Manage audit defense, ensure SOX compliance, and reduce tax exposure across $3B in sales and $400M in procurement.
- Develop Talent: Lead and mentor a team of tax professionals, fostering growth and technical excellence.
Who You’ll Work With
- Internal Partners: Collaborate with cross-functional leaders across Finance, Procurement, Legal, and Operations.
- External Stakeholders: Engage with tax authorities, consultants, and regulatory bodies.
- Your Team: Lead and support the Senior Tax Accountant and Tax Accountant under the guidance of the Indirect Tax Director.
What You’ll Bring
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (Master’s in Tax, CPA, or CMI preferred)
- 8–10+ years of indirect tax experience (public accounting and/or manufacturing industry preferred)
- Expertise in multi-state procurement taxation and global indirect tax exposure
- Strong project management and analytical skills
- Proficiency in SAP, Vertex, Alteryx, RIA Checkpoint, and other tax tech tools
- A passion for innovation, automation, and continuous improvement

As of the date of this posting, a good faith estimate of the current pay scale for this position is $111,200.00 to $139,100.00. Placement in the range depends on several factors such as experience, skills, geography and internal equity and may change over time. This position qualifies for benefits and you will be eligible to participate in a bonus plan.
