Summary
The Cost Accountant will be responsible for ensuring that the proper accounting and controls are executed in the plant and for completing analysis. This role will partner with Operational and Finance teams to analyze processes, financial trends and develop ways to improve the manufacturing performance. The Cost Accountant will manage the core accounting functions within the manufacturing plant. The Cost Accountant is also responsible for coordinating and conducting cycle counts and annual physical counts within the plant, guiding the cost analysis process, and building and controlling the plant’s annual budget.
What You’ll Do:
- Support plant accounting operations and ensure proper financial controls are followed.
- Assist in preparing and analyzing cost reports and financial data.
- Participate in cycle counts and annual inventory counts.
- Help monitor and track manufacturing performance metrics.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify process improvements.
- Contribute to budget planning and variance analysis.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation for audits and reporting.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- Minimum of one year of experience in an accounting or finance role.
- Manufacturing experience preferred.
- CPA / CMA certification (or working toward it) is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work with financial data.
- Basic understanding of cost accounting principles.
- Ability to analyze data and present findings clearly.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Good communication skills and ability to work with different teams.
- Willingness to learn and grow within the organization.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
