Tax Accountant (Indirect)

Position Summary

The  Indirect Tax Accountant  participates in the effective and efficient operation of the Corporate

Tax Department.  This position assists in tax compliance and  tax accounting requirements.  In executing the responsibilities required of this position the Indirect Tax Accountant interacts with a variety of accounting, finance, and operations personnel throughout the Company.

Position Responsibilities

 Sales and Use Tax Compliance:  (45%)

  • Prepares and files U.S. sales and use tax returns.
  • Prepares and files Canadian GST/HST/QST/PST tax returns.

Property Tax Compliance (35%)

  • Prepares and files local property tax returns.
  • Prepares and files local property tax installment payments.

Tax Accounting and Administration:  (20%)

  • Prepares account reconciliations for indirect taxes.
  • Prepares monthly property tax accruals.
  • Assists with responding to internal and external inquires.
  • Supports the Corporate Tax Department projects and iniatives.
  • Support the Corporate Tax Department in responding to audit inquires of the indirect tax function.

Position Requirements

 

Education/Experience:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Finance or Accounting required.
  • 0-2 years tax experience.
  • Skilled in using  standard features of various personal computer word processing, spreadsheet software, and tax return processing software (Microsoft Word and Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, pivot tables & V Lookups, OneSource, SAP and other financially-related and proprietary software).
  • Excellent analytical and decision-making skills
