The Senior Network Engineer will be responsible for ongoing support of our global network infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and datacenter network. This support includes incident and problem management, internal and external customer-driven changes, next generation network evolution guidance, network testing, new network solutions use case validation, break-fix troubleshooting, and maintenance services for all aspects of data networking.
What You'll Do:
- Design and deploy global enterprise network solutions
- Manage escalations from other teams as well as various monitoring tools involving service-affecting issues
- Troubleshoot, isolate and correct service-affecting issues on the network in areas including routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), routers, switches, firewall administration, MPLS, VPN, and load balancing
- Plan, schedule, and implement network maintenance activities which include software upgrades, hardware replacement and network infrastructure changes
- Implement approved routing policy changes and corrections to mitigate points of traffic congestion on the network due to planned or unplanned incidents
- Work with network infrastructure and service providers to identify and correct causes of circuit disruption
- Partner with hardware vendors to determine causes of device issues or failures
- Create network connectivity diagrams and other documentation of live network environments for internal and customer use
- Act as partner in owning incident management during critical events that impact the network, including internal and external communications, team coordination of repair and root cause analysis efforts
- Conduct performance analysis and optimization
- Communicate effectively with internal and external audiences who have varying levels of technical expertise
- Maintain high quality customer service to internal and external groups
- Provide input and feedback to network and IT leaders to support strategy development

What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in a computer technology field, related discipline, or equivalent experience required
- Minimum of 6+ years of experience in network engineering and operations in a multi-vendor environment required
- Experience in the following preferred: Advanced configuration of Cisco, Palo Alto and Meraki devices; Cisco Wireless including ISE; BGP, MPLS, OSPF, VPN and related protocols; link aggregation protocols; High Availability Technologies: HSRP, VRRP, MLAG, VSS, VPC; Operating Systems: Windows, Linux
- Vendor Certification, e.g., CCNP, CCDP, CCIE preferred
- Project management experience preferred
- F5 Big IP preferred
- Strong ability to troubleshooting issues and find root cause
- Ability to initiate and effectively utilize “remote hands” assistance within datacenter and carrier environments for items such as fault isolation, installation/test of structured cabling/cross-connects
- Ability to troubleshoot physical equipment and replace faulty components within a chassis
- Demonstrated history of organization and time management skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to connect with internal customers and external vendors with varying degrees of technical knowledge
- Self-motivated and disciplined with the ability to work remotely with little or no direct supervision
- Exhibit a strong understanding and practice of customer service
- Ability to recognize and prioritize critical tasks independently
- Available for night and weekend work when needed to address network issues
- Ability to travel an average of <10%
