As a member of the indirect tax team, the Senior Tax Accountant- Indirect Tax contributes to the group on various tax matters including but not limited to tax accounting, research, audits, and state tax compliance. In executing the responsibilities required by this position the Senior Tax Accountant interacts with a variety of accounting, finance, and operations personnel throughout the company as well as various external partners.


What You’ll Do:

  • Train and develop the Tax Accountant- Indirect Tax on the various aspects of their defined role in the functional area of property taxes, income tax, business incentives, US/Canadian sales/use tax and transaction taxes.
  • Review and approve the deliverables of the Tax Accountant- Indirect Tax in the functional area of property taxes, income tax, business incentives, US/Canadian sales/use tax and transaction taxes.
  • Develop materials and train plant personnel on taxation of purchases and sales/use tax compliance processes and procedures.
  • Assist and support the department manager with compliance, research, and audit defense in the functional area of property taxes, income tax, business incentives, US/Canadian sales/use tax and transaction taxes.
  • Research and document tax issues and positions for the functional areas of property taxes, income tax, business incentives, US/Canadian sales/use tax and transaction taxes.
  • Identify and recommend systems and process improvements around accuracy, timeliness, and efficiency in the functional areas of  property taxes, income tax, business incentives, US/Canadian sales/use tax and transaction taxes.
  • Implement approved projects.
  • Maintain the business incentives status report.
  • Maintain the business incentives SharePoint site and physical department files.
  • Prepare and file business incentives support schedules and compliance reports.

What You’ll Bring:  

  • Demonstrated ability to successfully prepare federal, state and local indirect tax returns, business incentive schedules and filings as well as supporting work papers in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Excellent personal computer skills- Excel, Word, PowerPoint and must be familiar with tax preparation software and tax research engines.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong business and technical writing skills.
  • Ability to research complex tax issues and provide reasonable basis for tax positions.
  • Broad technical knowledge of corporate taxation.
  • Strong verbal and presentation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and act independently.
  • Self-starting and high motivation
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and Finance. Degree must be from an accredited institution.
  • Masters in Taxation and/or CPA desired but not required.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience with some Big 4 experience preferred.
  • Strong research and tax compliance skills: OneSource, Checkpoint, BNA

Salary + Bonus:  The expected pay range for this position is between $85K and $100. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, market conditions, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position qualifies for benefits which may also include a discretionary bonus.
