Onsite from the Fontana, CA Research & Development Facility

 

The Senior Facilities Technician leads the R&D facility maintenance sub-contractors and take the lead when completing facilities, safety and 5S related tasks, including maintaining the building and site compliance while utilizing best practice techniques.

This position will report to the Facilities Supervisor and the successful candidate will have good communication skills, can execute task in an effective and timely manner, with the ability to develop and sustain strong relationships with others.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Perform preventative maintenance and repairs for site grounds, facility, labs, and warehouse (Lighting, plumbing, air conditioning, roof repairs, build and move furniture, etc.)
  • Contribute to the planning of construction projects including design layout, tools and materials needed.
  • Assist with 5s and execute safety repairs and improvements as needed.
  • Perform routine equipment, hand tool maintenance, warehouse maintenance and waste disposal.
  • Equipment Maintenance:
  • Maintenance of equipment and tools (i.e., forklift, compressor, milter saws, table saw, etc.)
  • Manage ad coordinate the organization of supplies and tools (including supply re-stocking and requisitioning).
  • Support lab, project teams and facilities as needed.
  • Contribute to R&D facility projects, product installation and trial support as needed.
  • Execution of material and product staging, preparation, storage, material cutting, painting and pallet stacking.
  • Forklift operation
  • Foster and maintain a culture of ZeroHarm
  • Utilize PPE and proper equipment.
  • Apply 5S philosophy in Facility, Warehouse, Labs, and Office Area
  • Submit weekly safety engagements.
  • Maintain forklift certification.
  • Complete mandated monthly OSHA training
  • Ensure a safe work environment on site grounds, facility, warehouse, labs, and office area through good housekeeping, utilizing proper personal protective equipment and practicing safe equipment operations.
  • Promote safety culture by participating in various safety initiatives.
  • May require frequent bending, reaching, climbing and occasional heavy lifting.


What You’ll Bring:  

  • Demonstrated skills in the use of various tools and construction practices.
  • Ability to problem solve complex issues and provide solutions.
  • Ability to train entry level technicians in the proficient use of hand tools and basic construction practices.
  • Team player with strong communication skills and ability to work cross functionally with teams.
  • Self-motivated individual with ability to work independently and within a team.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • Associate degree preferred.
  • 5-7 years of experience in commercial or residential facility maintenance or building construction preferred.  3-4 years accetable too.
  • Must be proficient in the use of construction hand tools and possess general construction skills.
  • Must possess basic computer skills.
  • Forklift experience required – minimum 1 year.

Hourly:  The expected pay range for this position is between $30 and $33. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience, market conditions, and other job-related factors permitted by law. This position also qualifies for benefits
