Onsite from the Cleburne, TX plant
James Hardie is looking for a Facility Maintenance Engineer to oversee/coordinate with contractors and site maintenance team to maintain and troubleshoot upsets of site support infrastructure support systems such as chillers, boilers, cooling towers, air compressors, HVACs, and other building systems throughout our 90+ acre site. You’ll perform systems evaluations on facilities and determine what installation or repair services need to be performed, manage a budget, and create calculations to ensure operational efficiencies. You’ll also assist in the hiring and training of support resources and arrange their work activities. What You’ll Do:
- Work with engineering and maintenance managers to assign and schedule work tasks with other facility technicians and/or contractors to perform initial evaluations of building systems and distribute work assignments.
- Evaluate contractor performances to ensure quality operations and investigate all accidents/incidents that may occur and prepare relevant reports.
- Work with Planners to evaluate needs for all work requests—both scheduled and unscheduled—as well as any special projects that arise.
- Coordinate and follow up on preventative maintenance on all facility support systems listed above, along with working with the EHS team in sustaining our water discharge system to the city.
- Read blueprints and plan projects to complete assigned tasks, and coordinate and follow up on incidental carpentry, masonry, concrete, and painting & plaster work.
- Assist in Instructing team in how to properly dispose of hazardous materials in accordance with established OSHA procedures.
- Manage additional facilities initiatives such as evaluation of new technology, cost reduction, industry comparisons or evaluation of strategic business development opportunities.
- Support the execution of non-routine project work.
- Ensure all regulatory, environmental and safety compliance issues are met.
- Display leadership of EH&S programs by demonstrating safe work practices, adhering to best practices and guidelines, and strictly following all applicable Federal, State, County and local laws and industry standards

- Experience in project management
- Experience in the maintaining and sustaining of facility support systems
- Experience with people management

Required:
- 5 + years of experience in the field
- Degree in an engineering discipline or equivalent
- Skills with ACAD and Visio, and proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Access, PowerPoint, Word, Outlook, Explorer)
- Strong analytical skills and proven organizational ability and attention to detail is a must. Exhibit above average communication skills written, oral and interpersonal.
- Basic knowledge of facility systems, e.g., mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic.
- Must be a self-starter, proactive, flexible, and deadline focused. Ability to learn new tasks quickly and handle confidential data.
- Applicants should possess strong interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills and can excel in a fast-paced development area and diverse team environment with minimal supervision
