James Hardie is seeking to expand its Investor Relations team by bringing in a resourceful self-starter possessing a desire to play a central role in achieving James Hardie’s mission to become the most respected Building Products company in the world. This highly visible role reports directly to the VP of Investor Relations and is based at James Hardie’s corporate headquarters in Chicago. The ideal candidate would on their first day become integral to the Company’s long-term leadership succession planning and will also benefit from highly differentiated experience and valuable coaching & development opportunities to accelerate their career.

Investor Relations (IR) is a fast-paced, externally oriented and high-profile team with ultimate responsibility for cultivating and maintaining a productive relationship between James Hardie and the investment community. This includes both existing and potential investors as well as equity research analysts covering the industry and the Company. Our credibility with these constituencies is vitally important, and IR serves as a critical conduit not only for communicating our performance and strategy to external stakeholders, but also for sharing investor perspectives with James Hardie’s Board of Directors, senior management and executive leadership.

 

What You’ll Do:

  • Build and leverage a strong internal information network; lead several cross-functional teams to execute the Company’s investor relations plan.
  • Own planning for and execution of the quarterly earnings process, source internal and external information, coordinate interactions between IR and senior management & executive leadership, manage all deadlines and deliverables.
  • Produce externally reported materials for earnings including press releases, investor presentations and management prepared remarks, while also contributing to regulatory filings.
  • Create and update supporting analysis and prepare key messages for senior management in advance of meetings with investors and analysts.
  • Monitor and summarize financial news flow and sell-side research reports.
  • Collect analyst estimates and analyze trends in consensus & valuation within the sector and for JHX.
  • Analyze and internally communicate relevant peer intelligence and market insights, and identify industry trends, shareholder concerns and competitor actions that could impact our communications strategy.
  • Assist in preparing regular updates for the Board of Directors, senior management and executive leadership on investor sentiment, analyst reactions and ongoing investor relations efforts.
  • Monitor changes in shareholder ownership, analyze shareholder register composition and contribute to shareholder targeting plans.
  • Support ESG initiatives and preparation for James Hardie’s annual shareholder meeting.
  • Maintain the Investor Relations website and various third-party vendor relationships.
  • Requirement for occasional domestic travel to support the VP of Investor Relations, senior management and executive leadership as they interact with investors and analysts at conferences, roadshows and industry events

  • Contribute in shaping James Hardie’s communications strategies and Investor Relations roadmap.
  • Build and maintain a strong personal brand across the Company as a resourceful and respectful business partner.
  • Provide frequent and proactive ad-hoc support to the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Financial Officer and James Hardie’s Executive and Finance Leadership Teams.

 

What You’ll Bring: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree Required; Accounting, Finance, Economics, Math or Science preferred

  • Advanced Degree or Certification (MBA, Master’s Degree, CFA, CPA) preferred

  • Minimum of 3 Years of Relevant Experience 

  • Previous FP&A, Investor Relations and/or Sell-Side Equity Research Experience preferred

  • Advanced Data Analysis and Excel Skills

  • Complex Problem-Solving Skills

  • Strong Written Communications Skills
