As the Senior Payroll Administrator, you will report directly to the Sr. Payroll Manager who in turn reports to Director Shared Services. You will not have any direct reports. 

 

In this role, you will ensure accurate and timely payment to employees, and the system-wide implementation of best practices, process improvements, and payroll system efficiencies. You will be responsible for ensuring payroll complies with James Hardie policies and all applicable regulatory requirements.

 

 

What You’ll Do:

 

 

  • Analyze, audit, reconcile and resolve payroll processing and employee payroll issues to ensure smooth payroll processing under only general supervision.
  • Ensure timely and accurate calculation of wages, tax withholdings, garnishments/liens, and company deductions.
  • Work closely with Sr. Payroll Manager to ensure that policies and procedures are adhered to.
  • Perform gross-to-net payroll calculation and the release and distribution of payroll checks.
  • Generate special “off-cycle” payroll runs for bonus checks and stock options as required.
  • Generate, review, audit and analyze ad-hoc reports as needed using various reporting tools.
  • Serve as key employee contact to resolve issues regarding payroll, leave accruals, wage deductions, fringe benefits, and other pay related issues.
  • Research current and pending regulations affecting payroll and advises management of any changes required; assist in ensuring payroll practices remain compliance with all federal, state, and location regulations.

What You’ll Bring: 

 

 

  • Minimum of 5 years working in payroll
  • Associate or bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field preferred.
  • CPP or other APA designation preferred.
  • ADP Enterprise Payroll Systems, ADP Reporting, UKG Payroll System
  • Extensive background and knowledge of full cycle payroll process and payroll best practices
  • Strong knowledge of ADP Payroll Systems, ADP Reporting
  • Proficiency in all Microsoft Office Suite programs and reporting, capable of performing VLOOKUP’s, pivot tables, etc.
  • Strong knowledge of federal, multi-state and international regulations
  • Ability to work independently and adopt a proactive approach to resolving complex payroll issues.
  • Strong work ethic and high degree of professionalism
  • Ability to perform under pressure in meeting payroll deadlines.
  • Functional knowledge of Human Resource business process of payroll, benefits, compensation, and employee relations
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel with tact and diplomacy.
  • Excellent ability to maintain confidentiality.
