Position Summary:

The Sr. Manager Re-Side & Remodel segment (R&R) has direct ownership of delivering long-term accelerated market share growth in our focus regions of the Southeast, South Central, Gulf Coast, Southwest, Mountains, Pacific Northwest, and Western Canada (High-S Markets).

 

This role takes on responsibility and decision making authority for both current strategy execution and volume delivery, as well as a heavy focus on developing longer-term strategy optimizations and adjustments needed for accelerated segment growth.  

 

This position reports to the Director of the North America Re-Side & Remodel Segment. This position will partner with a broad cross-functional team, including other segment leaders, project managers, products, marketing, sales, commercial operations, and finance. The home office location for this position is flexible, although the James Hardie corporate office at 303 E. Wacker Drive in Chicago, Il, is preferred. Travel is expected to be ~35%. 

Position Responsibilities:

 

  • Develops and leads implementation of the market development strategy and supporting infrastructure to drive long-term market share growth in targeted geographies, including:
    • Short and long range strategy optimization and creation
    • Delivery against annual sales volume and profit goals
    • Ensures local market execution of our current R&R strategy and game plan.
    • Leads cross functional development and implementation of marketing and sales programs for the R&R segment
    • Leads competitive analysis, market analysis, and associated game plan adjustments
    • Creation and delivery of improved sales training and development programs

 

  • Accelerate R&R market development and sales growth in High-S markets with a primary focus on defending our market share position against close alternatives and converting competitive siding opportunities to Hardie fiber cement products.
  • Partners with the marketing team and oversees the development of R&R marketing strategy and consumer demand generation initiatives in target markets.
  • Identifies optimal product portfolio needed to win in the segment and develops the business case for new product, process, or technology innovation initiatives. Partners with Products and R&D team on the NPI process.
  • Understands market conditions and competitive strategies and creates business plans to address opportunities and threats.
  • Leads development and usage of management and sales reporting tools to track progress against goals and identify key business insights that impact segment strategy.
  • Gains deep understanding of our target Customers, Contractors, and Consumers (homeowners), and develops compelling customer and market programs to enable market share growth.
  • Partners with Strategic Initiatives leader to drive increased contractor acquisition and alignment through Brand Days and Contractor Fast Track programs, and via optimization of our Contractor Alliance Program (CAP) and supporting sales support methods.
  • Partners with commercial operations and training teams to develop and execute ongoing coaching, training, and knowledge assessments to enable continued sales team development.

  • Superior interpersonal and written/oral communication skills with the ability to relate well and cooperate with others to effectively coordinate activities and accomplish goals
  • Demonstrated advanced skills with the standard features of various personal computer word processing and spreadsheet software (Microsoft Word and Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, and proprietary software)
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 30%

 

Education/Experience Required:

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Sales, Marketing, Business, or related field (MBA preferred)
  • 12+ years of experience in sales, marketing, channel, or product/segment management
  • Must have experience with multifaceted market research/analysis driving insights to inform company strategy
  • Proven project management experience in a cross-functional environment
  • Business to business plus business to consumer marketing experience (preferred)
  • Sales or business development experience (preferred)
