What You’ll Do:
The ABAP Developer works closely with Business Analysts and end users to design, develop, test, and implement reports, interfaces, conversions, forms, enhancements and workflow in SAP to effectively meet business requirements. The incumbent will be supporting ECC and APO. In addition to project work this position will also support Business As Usual (BAU) developing new programs and enhancements to support business requirements. SAP S/4 experience is desirable.
Takes a lead role in developing appropriate SAP solutions for new implementation projects by:
- Developing ABAP code to support development of reports, interfaces, conversions, enhancements, and forms as well as developing queries and workflow.
- Writing clear, complete functional and technical specifications for the development team, including support for Business Intelligence (BI) analytics development.
- Contributing to team members through all implementation efforts, including design, build, test, documentation, and go-live activities
Provides ongoing Business as Usual (BAU) support across the ECC and APO applications by:
- Demonstrating full knowledge with existing SAP design and enhancements.
- Analyzing problem tickets and change requests while determining appropriate solutions within a reasonable timeframe per service level agreements; and
- Developing new capabilities as needed while working with Business Analysts to modify and test programs ensuring adequate end user testing and acceptance of all changes.
Supports “Best Practices” and ensure full audit compliance by:
- Documenting and enhancing of development standards, change management processes and technical support requirements and procedures.
- Troubleshoot & resolving CIF & RFC queues issues.
- Administering technical cross training with colleagues.

Decision Making:
The ABAP Programmer Analyst regularly participates in the decision making process to develop effective and efficient system design decisions. Based on knowledge of programming principles, best practices, and SAP capabilities, the incumbent recommends appropriate solutions to business issues.
Lead Responsibilities:
While having no direct supervisory responsibilities, the ABAP Programmer Analyst has strong leadership skills to effectively participate in and facilitate work groups, consisting of various combinations of business users, developers and Business Analysts through project and development activity. In problem solving activities, the incumbent provides direction to others in identifying root causes and developing appropriate solutions.
Scope of Position:
The incumbent spends a majority of his/her time performing analysis, troubleshooting, and developing effective solutions to business requirements, receiving input from the SAP Business Analysts and Business Users. This includes collaboration with other Programmer Analysts, BW and Basis resources.

- Understanding of full life cycle ASAP or other development methodology.
- Demonstrated ability to remain effective and productive in a fast-paced and changing environment
- Ability and willingness to travel on occasion.
- Ability to provide after-hours support as required.
Education/Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, Business, Finance, or related field.
- 3+ years of SAP ABAP experience
- Strong working experience in BAPI, IDOC/ALE, ALV, SAP Script, Smart Forms, RFC’s, ABAP objects, Webdynpro, Enhancements, Workflow, reports, interfaces, and dialog programs.
- Multiple full life-cycle implementations of SAP - includes designing solution, requirements gathering, preparation of technical specifications, unit and integration testing.
- 1+ years of APO Development experience is desirable.
