North America Events Manager

 

The North America Events Manager will organize and support corporate events from concept to execution for James Hardie, North America. This individual will execute event logistics, budgeting and contracting. We are looking for an events professional to manage our internal and external client-facing events, primarily focusing on conferences, while being the liaison between our clients and internal stakeholders.  They will also work on multiple event projects simultaneously, ranging from home and trade shows to supporting larger events.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Research potential meeting sites: activities include performing site visits, collecting proposals, and reviewing contracts as needed to book future meeting and event venues.
  • Be the point of contact for the exhibitors and corporate partners, and oversee the success of onsite and offsite events.
  • Organize and collaborate with Marketing on the production of event collateral including invitations, promotional items and signage.
  • Developing and managing quarterly and annual event budgets to ensure on-budget event execution.
  • Coordination of pre-event tasks such as briefing templates, production of name badges, place cards, menu cards, printed materials; seating assignments for events; packing and shipping of event supplies.
  • Negotiate proposals, terms and contracts, quote rates and prepare agreements with outside vendors and establishments.
  • Build brand awareness and loyalty in the community through deep, strategic relationships.
  • Coordinate home and tradeshows by conducting event research, site planning, expense management, ROI analysis and reporting, booking of booth space, ordering exhibition services, overseeing logistics (on and offsite), and product shipping coordination.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in event management, incorporating innovative ideas to enhance event experiences.
  • Coordination of post-event tasks such as final data management and event debrief documents.

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, PR, Communications and/or Business; with 8-10+ years of Event Management experience
  • Ability to multitask, juggle, prioritize and balance competing goals and projects
  • Proven ability to complete projects according to outlined scope, budget, and timeline
  • Experience seeing projects through the full life cycle
  • Excellent organizational skills and extreme attention to detail
  • Expertise with event operations ideally within the building/construction services industry
  • Experience interfacing and negotiating with internal and external groups at all levels and across multiple functions
  • Calm under pressure and able to work within tight deadlines
  • Fluency with Microsoft Products: PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
  • Salesforce knowledge a plus
