The Marketing Specialist’s primary responsibility is to support the growth of the Pro Channel through the implementation of regional and national marketing strategies that increase demand for James Hardie products and take share from competitors. This position will frequently interact with members of the James Hardie brand, product, segment, and sales teams, as well as customers (dealers and distributors), builders, and remodeling contractors. This employee must have strong organizational, prioritization, and analytical skills, as well as proven results integrating with cross-functional teams.

 

Key areas of responsibilities will include—but will not be limited to—marketing support for the sales team, tool development, assistance with content planning and distribution, in-store merchandising, project management, and effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders.

 

What You'll Do:

  • Supports incoming marketing requests from James Hardie’s sales force (300+ sales reps) and provides marketing solutions to help achieve local and national objectives (30%)
  • Collaborates with the Brand and Design teams on the development of new tools, resources and assets for our sales team, customers, and end-users (20%)
  • Partners with the Content team on the development and distribution of content for James Hardie’s trade audiences (15%)
  • Assists with execution of in-store merchandising displays and solutions at customer branches (10%)
  • Measures and reports KPIs of tools, programs, and campaigns and provides optimization recommendations to all stakeholders (10%)
  • Supports the coordination and execution of trade influencer programs and paid and earned media campaigns (5%)
  • Conducts needs assessments with customers and trade partners (5%)
  • Coordinates with E-commerce and Product Data teams to ensure products are well represented on customer websites (5%)
  • Drives marketing operational excellence, identifying opportunities for department efficiencies
  • Establishes, builds, and maintains relevant internal and external relationships, including internal cross functional teams
  • This role requires 5% travel

What You'll Bring:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Communications, or Business required. Degree must be from an accredited institution.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience in a corporate marketing environment; with a preferred focus on B2B marketing and sales enablement are highly desirable
  • Experience working with distributors, dealers and building professionals strongly preferred
  • Must be able to create, execute and manage multiple project plans at one time
  • Exceptional attention to detail and project management skills
  • Proven ability to effectively navigate through ambiguous situations
  • Self-starter with high sense of personal accountability
  • High integrity to deliver against committed deliverables within a specified time period
  • Able to manage and motivate people through influence, this person is able to build strong relationships with a wide range of people including retail marketing partners
  • Exceptional verbal and report presentation abilities
