Position Summary

The Marketing Manager will be a leader in the marketing team participating across all facets of the business. The incumbent will frequently interact with the sales team, dealers, builders, and remodeling contractors, developing and executing against winning B2B strategies that increase demand for James Hardie products. This employee must have strong organizational, prioritization, and analytical skills, as well as proven results integrating with cross-functional teams.    

 

Key areas of responsibilities will include but are not limited to the development and execution of strategic marketing plans, project management, effective communication with both internal and external stakeholders.  

 

The Marketing Manager will be based out of our Chicago office (303 E Wacker Dr) and will report to the Director of Pro Marketing.   

 

 What You’ll Do:

A day in the life of this job can include the following

  • Drives strategy and execution within the Marketing team. Examples of projects include: builder amplification programs, co-op marketing campaigns, jobsite marketing programs, development of winning sales tools, installation support, and identifying new opportunities to drive efficiencies in trade marketing execution.

  • Establishes, builds, and maintains relevant internal and external relationships, including internal cross functional teams. Partners effectively with local sales teams on regional marketing programs/initiatives.

  • Oversees project budgeting, prioritization, and allocation of resources to ensure on time, on budget, and complete delivery against plans.

  • Tracks the measurement and optimization of commercialization efforts.

  • Estimated allocation of time 50% strategy development, 50% tactical execution.

 

 Skills:

  • Proven ability to translate customer needs to winning business to business marketing strategies.

  • Inquisitive approach to understanding the business, customer, and competition—the ability to draw conclusions and develop calculated recommendations based on this understanding.

  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to listen and assess customer needs, prioritize needs/requirements, and communicate them cross-functionally.

  • Experience developing solutions to complex business problems.

  • Experience balancing data with intuition to drive initiatives forward.

  • Demonstrated cross functional team leadership.

  • Proven interpersonal skills to constructively foster relationships internally and externally, building advocacy amongst critical stakeholders.

  • High level of motivation with the ability to operate as an individual and team contributor.

  • Ability to travel up to 20% of the time.

 

Supervisory/Lead Responsibilities:

This position has does not have direct reports. Career path of this position is Sr. Marketing Manager.

 

What You’ll Bring:

Position Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree required. Marketing, communications, or business degrees preferred.  

  • 10+ years work experience in marketing, sales, advertising

  • Proven results in development and execution of marketing strategies

  • Experience creating, executing and managing multiple project plans and integrated marketing campaigns at once

  • Proven ability to build effective cross-functional relationships and lead through influence

  • Experience effectively navigating through ambiguous situations

  • Able to manage and motivate through influence and build strong relationships with a wide range of people
