As the Market Intelligence Analyst, you will be responsible for providing analysis, projections, and actionable insights that directly contribute to senior leadership decision- making and drive the success of the North America business.
The scope of the role includes ownership of market and industry analytics across the James Hardie business. In this role, you will provide the incumbent the unique opportunity to not only showcase significant analytical capabilities, but also drive meaningful process and analytic improvements that directly contribute to senior leadership decision-making, through developing market-driven insights that are actionable for the business. You will have significant interaction with senior leadership and offers an opportunity to gather cross-functional and external environment exposure.
What You’ll Do:
- Own external market and industry metrics to support strategic planning
- Own models to estimate market growth across our products and segments
- Leverage external data sources to monitor and assess the state of the housing market
- Lead development and execution of strategic business intelligence reviews across Commercial & Operations
- Leverage and analyze external data sources and market dynamics to monitor and assess potential impacts to the business
- Track and understand macro and micro influencers to generate meaningful assumptions
- Support management decision-making through analysis and modeling as needed
- Presenting insights to James Hardie’s strategic and finance teams on a regular cadence

What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree – Required - Preferred – Finance, Economics, Business, Data Analytics, Statistics, Mathematics, or other quantitative degree
- Two to Four Years Work Experience in a Quantitative and Analytical Role
- Preferred – Market intelligence experience in a related industry
- Strong analytical skills, with a demonstrated track record of drawing actionable insights from data
- Proven ability to synthesize complex and detailed data and information into meaningful outtakes and decision base information. Articulates views in a clear and concise manner.
- Outstanding attention to detail
- Expertise in Microsoft Excel and strong PowerPoint skills
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments while meeting deadlines and demanding quality execution.
- Demonstrated ability to identify problems and thinking independently about alternative solutions, especially when data in ambiguous or unavailable
- Demonstrated ability to hold peers accountable in a matrix organization with success in indirect leadership
- Ability to be tactical as well as see the bigger operational picture.
- Proficiency with SAP ECC, Business Objects, and Tableau preferred
- Demonstrated track record with presenting insights to commercial, finance and senior leadership teams preferred
- Experience with analyzing or measuring market and industry performance preferred
- Travel – Expected to be available to travel 10% of the time
