The Manufacturing Business Systems Analyst position will support Manufacturing applications, as part of James Hardie North America Application team. This position will provide project delivery and business systems support around Manufacturing Operations systems including, but not limited to, Manufacturing Execution Systems, shop floor equipment automation, quality control technologies and other manufacturing applications.
The Manufacturing Business Systems Analyst for operations analyzes business processes; translates and documents business requirements into functional requirements; identifies alternative solutions; assesses feasibility and makes recommendations to leverage new or existing IT technology components. They perform data analysis, work with internal & external development staff to drive system improvements, prepare functional specifications; prepare, coordinate and perform testing; train and support key business users.
What You'll Do:
- Provide ongoing business support for Manufacturing applications:
- Become familiar with existing systems
- Analyze problem tickets through root cause analysis, and determining appropriate solutions
- Update configuration and work with developers to modify programs and ensure adequate end user testing and acceptance
- Coordinate support escalation, communication with business, service desk, and technical teams
- Support cross-functional issues investigation, testing, and resolution
- Interface with internal / external auditors during SOX audits
- Ensure that all IS Helpdesk SLAs and metrics are adhered to
- Partner with business stakeholders to identify opportunities to optimize existing processes and technology as well as assessing new technologies and business solutions
- Support stakeholders to develop ROI and business cases for project reviews and approval
- Write clear, complete functional specifications from business requirements for development team
- Create and design training and process documentation for new functionality and projects for end user training
- Participate in project management by managing small to medium size projects from definition through implementation
- Communicate issues, enhancement, project status to business stakeholders and management
- Work closely with relevant business teams to recommend business process changes based on knowledge of manufacturing solutions and best business practices:
- Research and identify appropriate solutions to optimize and increase adoption
- Use past experiences and knowledge of manufacturing systems
- Collaborate with business stakeholders and applications teams to deliver new business process
- Assist users in determining the best methods for data reporting

What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Information Technology, or related field or equivalent experience required. Degree must be from an accredited institution.
- Minimum of 5 years of designing, configuring and implementing Manufacturing Execution and Quality systems
- 3 years of experience partnering with business leaders regarding business processes preferred
- Experience with ERP systems, SAP preferred
- Wonderware and PLC experience a plus
- Successful candidate will have demonstrated the ability to work in a fast paced, team environment with strong attention to detail and quality results.
- Experience with gathering user and functional requirements for business applications; architect sustainable solutions
- Demonstrated understanding of all aspects of a full life cycle implementation
- Strong verbal/ written/ presentation communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to relate well and cooperate with others to effectively coordinate activities, accomplish goals, and provide constructive feedback
- Aptitude to analyze results and make recommendations
- Develop and improve relationships with vendors, customers, internal departments, and other associated entities
- Ability to travel an average of 25%
