Head of Global Talent, Org & Engagement
Reports to: CHRO
Team Member: Global HR Leadership Team and James Hardie Global Senior Leadership team
Location: Chicago, IL
Travel: Approximately 10-25% (Regionally & Globally)
Position Overview:
The Global Head of Talent, Org & Engagement Center of Excellence (CoE) at James Hardie, a nearly $4Bn global business with approximately 6,000 employees in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific, will lead a team to set Global Talent, Org & Engagement Strategy that enables business growth. The incumbent will play a pivotal role in further embedding our Purpose “Building a better future for all” through innovative Talent, culture and engagement practices. The Talent leader will oversee the full range of Talent management, succession planning, performance management, retention, organization design and effectiveness, change management and employee engagement strategies.
Responsibilities:

Strategic Planning: Design and execute strategic programs for Talent & Succession Planning, Performance Management, Organizational Design and Effectiveness, Change Management, and Employee Engagement and Culture, in partnership with regional Talent Management teams to support organization’s vision and goals.

Integrated Talent Management: Understanding of the end-to-end talent management cycle and is experienced in building high performing culture and teams.

Business Partner: A business partner that influences and drives talent strategies with Senior Leadership, HR Leadership team and HR Business Partners that aligns with company purpose, mission, vision and values.

Collaboration across the HR Operating model: Partners effectively globally with other HR COEs, focusing on talent management, org and change to ensure an integrated and systematic approach to HR systems and processes.

Market Trends, Analytics & Matrices: Deep understanding, communication, and application of analytics, matrices, bench marking and relevant external talent market trends to keep our talent and organizational effectiveness practices contemporary and technologically enabled.

Organizational Design: Lead transformative organization design and effectiveness initiatives, uncovering opportunities within a region/function's strategy, structure, processes, systems (tools, technology, data), talent and culture to develop and execute strong OD/OE plans.

M&A and Talent Integration: Experience in HR practices for inorganic growth (org, talent, HR processes, etc.) and establish JH’s talent M&A and integration HR practices, processes and tools.

Employee Engagement: Develop and implement a strategic roadmap for employee listening and culture, including the Employee Engagement Survey, onboarding and exit surveys.

Change Management: Develop and deliver large-scale, complex change management efforts for both the business and global HR functions while also establishing JH’s Change Management practices, processes and tools.

Leadership Team: Serve as a member of the global Human Resources Leadership Team.
Position Requirements:
-
At least 15 years of relevant HR experience with specific expertise gained in HR Business partnership, Talent Management, OD/OE, Change Management and Mergers & Acquisitions.

Proven track record leading successful HR & cultural transformations, with in an advanced HR operating model, with multi-unit businesses, ideally with experience in a high-touch or high-stakes fast-paced manufacturing environments.

Experience leading other elements of the employee life cycle such as talent management processes, performance management, engagement, etc.

Experience working in a HR business partnering capacity at some point in career, leveraging services of Talent & Development Centers of Excellence is a plus.

Experience working in a global organization, across multiple countries and cultures required.

Experience building programs to transform and reinforce organizational capabilities and culture in alignment with strategic plans.

Education:

An undergraduate bachelor’s degree in human resources, business or a related discipline is required.

An MBA or specialized Master’s degree in related area is preferred.
