As the Go-To-Market (GTM) Strategy Manager, 

 

 

What You’ll Do:

will be accountable for the development and implementation the James Hardie Single Family New Construction Market Development Strategy resulting in accelerated market share growth with Single Family New Construction Builders.

 

The Segment Manager will partner across the commercial organization including Field Sales, National Accounts, Sales Operations, Organization Development, Marketing, Finance, HR, etc. to establish and embed foundational go-to-market capabilities, competencies, tools, and resources to support the national Single Family New Construction approach, offer, and value proposition.  This will include developing, supporting, and implementing national/regional initiatives as well as local market-specific growth strategies focused on primary leverage points. 

 

Through the implementation of market development specific tactics, the Segment Manager will glean key market insights and utilize to continuously improve and evolve the market development strategy, tactics, and tools.  The Segment Manager will prosper in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment and enjoy the continuous evolution of our growth strategy.  Ideally, they will have experience in both Sales Execution, Strategy Development, and Implementation.

  • Commanding continuous evolution of the Market Development strategies and institutionalize changes across the organization by developing and deploying training, tools and resources.
  • Ownership of development, pilot, and executing the commercialization of new growth strategies to address growth barriers (i.e. Energy Codes);
  • Tracking key local market trends and identifying how JH can meet/address builder needs; establish and consistently performance manage key performance metrics and indicators; 
  • Leading the implementation of the Market Development Training Curriculum (Strategy, Industry, Technical) and developing additional training content to fill training/knowledge gaps, as needed;
  • Driving cross-functionally to develop a holistic trade marketing plan to create product attribute awareness and address local market trade growth barriers;
  • Managing builder research process and drive ongoing business priorities and alignment (Product, Program, Offers, etc.);
  • Directing in prioritization, budgeting, planning and tracking of critical growth projects.
  • Balance time allocation between strategy development and tactical execution as appropriate to deliver near and mid-term goals.
  • Participate as cross functional member on Sales and Marketing Teams
  • Track the planning, measurement and optimization of all commercialization efforts.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Business or related discipline required.
  • Minimum of 8+ years of experience in Sales, Marketing, Strategy, Enablement, Go-to-Market, etc
  • Master’s Degree, MBA, preferred
  • Detail oriented, with solid organizational skills.
  • Aptitude to analyze results and make recommendations – leverage analytics and insight into a larger picture
  • Fundamental understanding of a commercialization process.
  • Experience in B2B distribution channels, Building Products, Construction, etc (Preferred)
  • Strong cross-functional team skills with demonstrated ability to effectively utilize internal resources to meet project deadlines and objectives.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to listen and assess customer needs, prioritize needs/requirements, and communicate them cross-functionally.
  • Developing presentation, and negotiation skills, and effectively in driving initiatives and participating as a member of cross functional teams.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to constructively foster relationships internally and externally, including key stakeholders.
  • High level of motivation with the ability to operate as an individual and team contributor.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Project).
  • Ability to travel an average of 40% and work in the Chicago office 3 days a week when not traveling
