What You’ll Do:
As the Commercial Financial Analyst you will be responsible for financial business partnership to the Commercial team with a focus on Segment support. Our segment team works on our go to market channel strategy. You will provide analysis, reporting, and actionable insight to help drive business performance. You will provide financial support for segment initiatives including business planning and modeling, ongoing support, and post auditing. Over the course of this work you will aid in product profitability and portfolio management to support cross functional product team, competitive intelligence and North American Insights. You will be building business relationships and strong cross functional business partnerships.
This role will be approximately 40% reporting and forecasting support, 40% segment partnership, and 20% ad hoc requests and project support as needed.
- Support commercial segment initiatives by modeling business plan to lead decision making, providing ongoing support, and post auditing
- Innovate and develop creative ways to evaluate the business, find growth opportunities, and drive overall value in collaboration with business unit partners and leadership
- Assist in product profitability analysis and reporting to drive portfolio management decisions
- Report actual results compared to targets for relevant measures and prepare variance analysis that provides meaningful forward-looking insight
- Assess current systems and databases and design and develop enhanced data automation and financial tools, e.g., dashboards, to support business review at-a-glance
- Work cross-functionally to ensure connectivity on forecasted and actual performance across all critical players.
- Operate as an integral member of the business unit team involved in day-to-day business process and advising on strategic business decisions to drive growth
- Liaise with finance teams and cross-functionally to enhance, implement, and drive adoption of existing and new processes and systems to drive process efficiencies and deliver clear insights efficiently
- Participate in yearly plan and target setting process to incorporate insights on volume forecast and SG&A spend
- Perform varied ad hoc analyses on the business across stated strategic priorities and metrics versus plan assumptions

What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree required, Finance, Economics, Business, Data Analytics, or other quantitative degree preferred
- Minimum of three year’s work experience in a quantitative and analytical role
- Manufacturing or related industry experience preferred
- Strong interpersonal and oral/ written communication skills with the ability to relate well, cooperate, and build relationships with all levels to help achieve business goals
- Constructively challenges business partner assumptions and goals
- Team player that leads with intellectual curiosity and stays current with developments and trend in areas of expertise; drive for continuous improvement
- Proven ability to synthesize complex and detailed data into meaningful insights and make recommendations; articulates views in clear and concise manner
- Demonstrated ability to identify problems and thinking independently about alternative solutions
- Ability to connect the bigger picture to day-to-day operations of the organization
- Expert skills with standard software and functionality (MS Office, pivot tables, v-lookups, and other financially related and proprietary software)
- Has worked with P&L in prior role, understands line items and how they are impacted by different business decisions
- Results-oriented to ensure deliverables are submitted in an accurate, complete, and timely fashion; operates with a sense of urgency
- Demonstrated ability to manage concurrent assignments while maintaining high performance standards and meeting deadlines
