What You’ll Do: 

 

As the Financial Analyst – Cost you will be a key member of the Manufacturing Finance Organization, integral to supporting the James Hardie organization in achieving Company objectives. The scope of the role includes ownership of key reporting and analysis across the James Hardie organization.  This role provides the incumbent the unique opportunity to not only showcase significant analytical capabilities, but also drive meaningful process and reporting improvements that contribute to senior leadership decision-making.

 

  • Develop, prepare and analyze key reports across the NA COGM. Support quality variance analysis that provides meaningful business insight.
  • Manage weekly forecasting cycle highlighting opportunities for improved business results
  • Partner heavily with key manufacturing personnel, both at corporate offices and James Hardie manufacturing locations
  • Monitor, report and track productivity for manufacturing plants
  • Own oversight, consolidation and publication of key weekly business reporting metrics to Senior Leadership.
  • Provide meaningful business insight based on quality variance analysis. Track and understand macro and micro influencers to generate meaningful assumptions.
  • Develop, prepare, and analyze short-range and long-range metric tracking models
  • Continuously improve variance analysis to advance the quality of reporting and insights to the business.
  • Support mission-critical ad hoc reporting and analysis to drive management decision-making
  • Lead projects to improve data management and reporting standardization - including identifying and implementing automated and self-service tools.
  • Design and implement data system change management process to support integrity of data reliability.

What You’ll Bring:

 

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Finance/Accounting or related discipline required.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in data analytics using complex data sets, with a focus on operational performance metrics.
  • Detail oriented, with solid organizational skills.
  • Strong analytical abilities, including an aptitude to analyze results and make recommendations.
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure connectivity on reporting metrics across all business partners.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel and Power Point skills required, PowerPivot/Power BI/Tableau experience a plus
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple concurrent assignments while meeting deadlines and demanding quality execution
  • Demonstrated ability to identify problems and think independently about alternative solutions using data analytics
  • Team player with a strong desire to learn. Proven the ability to communicate at various levels and across functions.
  • Intellectually curious and demonstrated thought leader
  • Ability to travel an average of 10%.
