The Desktop Engineer – Patch Management will be responsible for understanding end user computing environment and providing guidance and recommendations to the enterprise based on industry best practices for Windows operating systems with emphasis on patch management but also be involved in managing software and OS deployments.

 

What You’ll Do: 

  • Develop and maintain patch management procedures to ensure all operating systems and software is kept up-to-date on Windows desktop and server OS and iOS mobile devices
  • Collaborate closely with cyber security team to quickly patch all vulnerabilities as discovered
  • Manage and maintain deployment and patching tool platforms (SCCM, Intune, Aiden)
  • Troubleshoot all areas of SCCM, Intune, desktop, and infrastructure issues and resolve complex problems
  • Create new and update existing documentation detailing procedures and processes

 

What You’ll Bring:  

  • Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Information Systems or Computer Science or related discipline or equivalent work experience
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience supporting MS Windows and Apple Desktop/Server environments leveraging the latest tools and concepts to provide exceptional service delivery across the enterprise and a minimum of 5 years of experience working with SCCM and Intune preferred
  • Experience in a Microsoft Active Directory environment, including knowledge of group policy, DNS, DHCP, and VPN technologies
  • Experience with Scripting (PowerShell, VBScript, etc.) preferred
  • Strong foundation of IT knowledge including networking, Windows operating systems, iPhone, Active Directory, WebEx or other video conferencing platforms, DNS, DHCP, Group Policy, Microsoft Office, Helpdesk Ticketing, and backup utilities
  • Knowledge of Change Management and Configuration Management principles and tools in an Information Technology Environment
  • Advanced knowledge and troubleshooting skills in Windows 10, Windows Server, VMware vSphere, VMware Horizon, Citrix XenApp/Receiver/Delivery Services Console preferred Off hours/on call support
  • Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal and oral/written communication skills with the ability to relate well and cooperate with others to effectively coordinate activities and accomplish goals; excellent customer service skills
  • Willingness to work as part of a team and contribute to the success of the group
