Summary
Location: Remote from Richmond, VA
The Area Sales Leader reports to the Area Sales Manager. This role is primarily a development role serving as an individual contributor responsible for individual market results, as well as, a coach to 2 or more territory sales reps with area management responsibilities. Individual contributor tasks will include account management activities, cross functional ownership of all building segments including the channel, and strong partnership with all internal and external stakeholders. Additionally, the Area Sales Leader will also have supervisory responsibilities, and will work very closely with the Regional Sales Leader to own and drive overall market results through coaching/rep development activities with the area’s sales reps.
What You’ll Do:
- Work closely with Regional Sales Leader to develop a team of sales reps to execute on strategic goals.
- Utilize and champion the use of CRM tools as a subject matter expert to drive the practice of making informed market decisions that lead to results.
- Manages and holds own self accountable to a priority based schedule with prospective customers.
- Partners for performance and models behavior for team with own ownership of key targets and accounts.
- Support sales reps and their customers as they move to James Hardie by eliminating barriers to conversion & creating a positive customer experience through the transiti
- Maintain key influential identified customers in targeted geographies and defend our business with them.
- Target growth opportunities within existing base and collaborate with growth rep to successfully transition the accounts.
- Add additional volume growth year over year.
- Support customers as they move to James Hardie by eliminating barriers to conversion & creating a positive customer experience through the transition.
- Build momentum in the market by leveraging key conversions with other builders or developers in the market to amplify the trend in the market.
- Identify influential builders & developers that will drive trends in future home development(s) through sustainable relationships.
- Manages and holds themselves accountable to a priority based schedule with prospective customers and key activities in the market.
- Develop a solid understanding of company products, customer programs and benefits, and our market development sales approach to effectively engage with prospective customers.
- Capable of analyzing and interpreting data to drive decision making.
- Able to host, lead and present in front of large audiences.
What You’ll Bring:
- 5+ years of sales experience in a high touch sales environment.
- Strong sales professional with proven leadership potential.
- Ability to develop and nurture relationships.
- Ability to influence key stakeholders to become advocates for James Hardie.
- High level of self-discipline and structure.
- Track record of proven results in project management activities.
- Able to convey construction expertise and knowledge at job sites.
- Ability to work with & understand complex channels & distribution models
- Basic understanding of fundamental financial concepts
- Travel 20%
- Valid driver’s license & Bachelors’ Degree Required
