As the Sr. Benefits Manager and head of the benefits function at James Hardie, you will play a key role in shaping total rewards strategy, administering programs, and providing guidance to leadership on benefits and compliance matters in US and Canada. You will direct and manage the overall design and administration of health, welfare and retirement programs. You will be responsible for ensuring benefit programs are competitive, sustainable, compliant and have an impact on the short and long-term performance of the company.
What You’ll Do:
- Collaborate with leadership to review, recommend and implement benefit changes annually by participating in vendor review, plan design discussion and budgeting processes.
- Administer employee benefits and manage vendor relationships, reviewing vendor services and addressing performance as needed.
- Manage and ensure the company’s annual benefit open enrollment process is completed accurately and timely.
- Support the organization’s strategic objectives and keep senior management apprised of internal and external issues.
- Supervise benefit department employees by overseeing all benefit projects and escalated employee benefit issues from vendors, employees, and beneficiaries in a quick, equitable and courteous manner.
- Ensure plans meet current and future requirements of the Affordable Care Act regulations and legislation, and ensures statutory compliance with FMLA, ADA, COBRA, ERISA and HIPAA legislation.

What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field required (must be from an accredited institution)
- Minimum of eight (8) years of benefits (health, welfare & retirement) design, administration and management experience
- Experience as a leader in the benefits function
- Vendor and people management experience
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders
